MLM, Network Marketing, or Direct Sales opportunities become more popular when economic times are hard. With loss of job security and income, men and women look for alternative ways to make ends meet and be independent of the traditional corporate structure that had let them down. They look for ways to never rely solely on corporate America and become involved with alternate solutions to provide not only needed income but also extra money for life’s pleasures. MLM, Network Marketing, or Direct Sales can build not only immediate income but also residual income so you can have a lifelong business that works regardless of corporate America.
Choosing the right opportunity for you can be daunting as so many ‘ground floor’ MLM, Network Marketing and Direct Sales business opportunities come up daily. You should ask yourself some basic questions before you give your time, money and energy to business that may not suit you long term.
You should be able to work full or part time in any opportunity you choose, you should not feel pressure from your up line to do more then you want. Same goes for building a down line. Not everyone wants to ask others to join in the opportunity as they may feel building a customer base is enough to provide for their family or does not want to be responsible for others who may not have as much success with the company.
Even a new MLM, Network Marketing or Direct Sales opportunity should have strong financial backing. How will the company function on a daily basis without capital and how will you get paid if they cannot pay simple operating costs. If the company is offering a fad product or service and you want to build a customer base that will buy for years to come, again, this may not be the business opportunity for you.
Realize that MLM, Network Marketing, or Direct Sales is a business and you need to treat it as such. Do not put more in then you get out, have a separate checking account for your profits and expenses, and have you accountant set up business structure for you when you feel the time is right. Good planning may save you many headaches later.
